A five-a-side football league in Bo'ness is set to become part of Europe's largest provider of small-sided leagues.

Fivez, which has been operating in Scotland for over three years, has been taken over by Soccer Sixes.

Fivez has a small network of 10 leagues operating mainly in Central Scotland including Bo'ness, Stirling, Falkirk and Stenhousemuir, but it a
lso has a leagues in other areas such as Greenock and Glasgow.

The Fivez leagues transferred to Soccer Sixes on July 1 and the addition of Fivez' leagues will take Soccer Sixes' network up to 220 leagues throughout Europe.

The takeover will benefit all of the teams currently playing in the Fivez leagues at Bo'ness Recreation Centre.

Soccer Sixes also offer regular promotions and additional competitions for free football kits, paintball days out and even cash prizes.

Fivez' director Paul Spacey explained why he agreed to the takeover,

He said: "We have been running hugely successful leagues in Scotland now for quite some time, however, we do not have the finances or resources to expand the network as we would like to.

"By joining forces with Soccer Sixes and becoming part of their huge network, we will now be able to focus on expanding Soccer Sixes' throughout Scotland.

"It's an extremely exciting time for us and there's no doubt our teams will benefit."

Soccer Sixes has plans to kick off 50 leagues throughout Scotland over the next six months.

Company spokesman Matthew Scoffham commented: "We are delighted to have agreed this takeover of Fivez.

"This expansion into Scotland is vital as we continue our quest to kick off a small-sided community football league in every town and city across the UK, as well as in Europe."
