A NEW sport has found some rising stars in Linlithgow already acheiving national success.

A group from Linlithgow Handball Club won the East of Scotland Mini Handball tournament, beating Livingston 10-0 to take the title.

Competing against teams from Cumbernauld, Edinburgh and all over West Lothian, the group of 10-year-olds played five-a-side on a slightly smaller court for the mini contest.

Lucy Middleton is an Active Schools co-ordinator and who organises the Linlithgow Handball Club.

She said: "Handball is a relatively new sport and we are trying to promote it and build it up across the country."

She added that a West Lothian tournament is planned for after the
summer holidays, alongside a West Lothian Handball league.
